Meagan French has become an expert in many aspects of promotion, PR and new media in the few short years she has been working in the music industry. Meagan began her career in college, years before she even graduated, because it was her passion to work with and discover new talent. She pioneered groundbreaking music articles for UC Santa Cruz’s award winning humor paper, The Fish Rap Live. In her three years on the paper, she interviewed many notable acts, such as Metric, Matt Pond PA, The Elected, Rogue Wave, and Murder by Death. FRL’s satirical editorial voice combined with her more traditional line of questioning allowed Meagan to write about bands from a perspective that many fans had not seen before.

Meagan was always looking for ways to help expand her knowledge of the music industry, so in her sophomore year, when she had the opportunity to work with The Syndicate promotions company, she took it. The New Jersey based company gave Meagan the opportunity to work on grassroots promotional campaigns for bands from Santa Cruz.

To gain more experience in the music scene, Meagan left sunny‒but small‒Santa Cruz, California the summer before her senior year to intern at Mute Records in New York City under the auspice of the very talented Ellena Osis and Justin Spindler. She worked in Radio Promotions, reaching out to college radio stations across the country to promote Mute’s extensive and diverse roster of artists.

She also continued her work with The Syndicate, promoting Snocap at Dispatch’s sold-out Madison Square Garden benefit and working at Siren Music Festival at Coney Island. She was honored with the Syndicates online Synner spotlight.

During this summer, Meagan was given the opportunity to work as an assistant for a fledgling promotions company, Midnite Enterprises. With the guidance of Robb Sibarium, Meagan worked with many aspects of the company, first in agent and event planner outreach, then was promoted to Director of Publicity and New Media. As a recent college graduate, Meagan continues to work with many facets of Midnite Enterprises including designing the Midnite Enterprises website, advertising, and publicity.
